    Red Hat Nash booting slow . Taking >20 secs to boot

    Hi ,

    I have installed fedora 7 on my system .
    When i reboot my system , the booting becomes very slow ...especially at the
    beginning . It says " red hat nash booting "and takes about 20 secs to start the booting process .
    Please tell me how can i reduce this problem .

    Hi and Welcome !

    Remove rhgb and quiet from kernel line in /boot/grub/grub.conf file and check where is it taking most of the time during boot up.
    It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

    Hi ...

    Thanks for the reply . It actually worked . It reduced my booting time to 15-20 secs .

    Please help me in more case . Its taking longer time to reach the gdm login screen .
    I have disabled almost all services , but still its taking around 30 secs to reach the gdm screen from the services screen .

    Pleae help me in this matter .
