    Hi and Welcome !

Post the output of fdisk -l command here. You can use Rescue Mode of RedHat installation CD/DVD or LiveCD of any Linux distro.
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

I'm not that familiar with how windows assigns multiple partitions but, based on information in your post
    I installed windows xp in
    "H" drive
I assume you put xp on a logical partition and it won't boot from a logical unless you have another version of windows on a primary partition. Posting the output of "fdisk -l" command as suggested by Devils Casper will tell us if this is the case and someone should be able to suggest a resolution for you.

*As said by a frnd ihave typed the following commands
    su -
    nano /boot/grub/menu.lst

It opened grub.conf file in nano editor.
and i added the following code at the end of file :

    Code:
    title Windows OS1
    rootnoverify (hd0,4)
    chainloader +1

    title Windows OS2
    rootnoverify (hd0,1)

But again the same problem persisted.

First of all, Mount Windows OS partitions in Linux and back up data. I don't think its possible to fix Windows Boot Problem now. You have installed Linux in First Primary Partition and Windows OS has been installed in Logical Partition.

    Anyways, try this
    Code:
    su -
    nano /boot/grub/menu.lst
It will open grub.conf file in nano editor.
Add this code at the end of file :
    Code:
    title Windows OS1
    rootnoverify (hd0,4)
    chainloader +1

    title Windows OS2
    rootnoverify (hd0,1)
    chainloader +1
Press Ctrl+X, Y and hit Enter key to save file. Reboot machine and check if any of these option boot up Windows OS.
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

    Open Terminal and execute this
    Code:
    su -
    cd /media
    mkdir win_1 win_2
    mount -t ntfs-3g /dev/sda2 /media/win_1 -o defaults,umask=0
    mount -t ntfs-3g /dev/sda5 /media/win_2 -o defaults,umask=0
Above code will mount Windows Partitions in /media/win_1 and win_2 folders. Either copy data of /media/win_1 to External disk or /media/win_5 partition.

In case any command throw error, replace ntfs-3g with ntfs only.

After data back-up, format sda1 partition in NTFS and sda2 in ext3. Install Windows OS in first partition. Windows Installation media install Windows OS in first partition by default. /dev/sda1 is C: drive only.
After Windows OS installation, install Linux. Select Manual Partitioning in Partition section and assign / mount point to ext3 partition. Installer will detect windows OS and SWAP partition. Installer will setup dual boot itself.
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

it gave a error msg as: mount: unknown filesystem type 'ntfs-3g'

    when i changed the mount command ( ie i replaced ntfs-3g to ntfs)as: mount -t ntfs /dev/sda2 /media/win_1 -o defaults,umask=0

Which version of RedHat are you using? Does your machine has internet access? You have to install kmod-ntfs or ntfs-3g package for NTFS support.

Do you have LiveCD of any Linux distro?
