What configurations files are needed to implement them?

I dont exactly understand what you mean by mandatory but i'm going to assume local.
Roaming and local profiles only make sense if you're using a samba primary domain controller[similar to AD, uses the same protocols].
Local profiles would be in effect if roaming profiles are not enabled via the samba config file. They work similarly to the roaming profiles done via Microsoft AD but i highly recommend not using roaming profiles. Too much trouble with maintenance and user abuse."A graphical user interface is just a mask. What lies beneath is what matters."

Examples of Mandatory or Roaming profiles.
Hello,
Suppose you have 5 Linux Clients Connected for Linux Server Linux Authentication Using OpenLDAP or NIS enabled.
My question is , How can I assign a mandatory user profile for users, so that no user account can customize desktop settings.?
