    I downloaded a program from the web which I need badly

    but it is a binary file compiled for solaris

    So how to run it on linux

    I have redhat 4

    You need to find the RPM for your version of Red Hat. If you can't find one, you can compile a package from source.

    And is it Redhat 4 or RHEL 4?

    It is a bin file compiled for Solaris 5 SPARC

    If it's not programmed for another processor, it probably won't work on RHEL.
