You can download the whole tree and organise the files into however many CDs are needed, then use mkisofs to create the iso filesystem (with eltorito, to make a CD which is bootable from the floppy image).

Otherwise, if anyone wants, I'll make the new ISOs available on the internet.
    Hi,
I need to install a Red Hat Linux 5.2 to run the OSPFD software. I found the distro from the same place, but I have no idea how to install it...
Can you enlighten me how to make ISO installation file from the FTP files?
    Thanks!

Download .iso image of RHEL 5.2 and burn it to DVD. Select Burn Image to disk option in DVD Burner package. Do not create bootable DVD because .iso images are bootable by default. Just select Burn Image to Disk option.
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

How to install Red Hat Linux 5.2? (not ISO)

    Hi,

I found this old distro here:
    ftp://archive.download.redhat.com/pu...5.2/en/os/i386
and I downloaded almost the whole files&directories under the i386 directory.

I need to install this in order to run a OSPF router software to study its source code which is part of my graduation project...Specifically the OSPFD software(OSPFD Resource Page, release 2_X)...it was developed under RHL 5.2 and I couldn't install it on some new distro(compile errors occurred), like Fedora 10 and Ubuntu 8.10, so I have to try with some distro with an old linux kernel.

However I have no idea how to install RHL 5.2, no ISO availabe only a lot of files and directories...

    Any ideas?

    Thanks.

    Thanks for your relpy.
But what I need is not RHEL but RHL, and the official FTP doesn't provide ISO images any more, just a bunch of files and directories.

    Welcome to the forums!

It looks like you can get the ISO file for RH 5.2 here:
