Terminal at Logon?
Hey everyone,
I've been playing around with my F10 box trying to get into Linux more and I'm experiencing a problem with my display. What happened is I modified some of my display options and logged out to reboot the service. Unfortunately it doesn't work and my monitor shows and error that the Input is not supported.
I know exactly what I need to do, just not HOW to do it. I need to get into /etc/X11/ and replace xorg.conf with xorg.conf.backup but unfortunately I don't know how to get a terminal during the boot process to make these commands before logon. Can anyone help me here?
Thanks

I had a revelation and fixed it...
I didn't find how to get a pre-boot terminal but I logged into it from this machine via PuTTY and managed to change the file that way. I noticed it was responding to HTTP & SSH requests because my website had not gone down.
Regardless, this is definately a skill which I would appreciate if someone could teach me.
