    Question Clean Desktop

I am trying liveCD Fedora 10 using gnome desktop and would like to have a totally clear desktop. How can I remove Hole, Computer, Trash and all of the mounted drive icons so I can have a clean desktop. I was told to bring up gconf-editor but cannot find it and to uncheck a bunch of items.

Just so you know, any changes you make in the livecd environment will be gone after you reboot.

If you want to run gconf-editor, hit Alt+F2 and then type gconf-editor followed by enter. The entire configuration for Gnome is in there, it's quite detailed.

LiveCD does not seem to have installed it. Is it installed by default when you do the standard install?

And then do you go to nautilus and change the settings there?

You could also use gtweakui, if you don't want to use gconf-editor.

By default I don't believe it is installed.

    Code:
    yum -y install gconf-editor

The clear command clears the screen in the terminal applet. This discussion is about removing the icons on the desktop.
