Fedora messed up my comp....
Hi, just made the switch over to linux from windows, started with ubuntu which was all good, but wanted to mess around and see others and how they compare. SO I moved on to Fedora 10, it installed fine, but after a few days I decided I wanted to go back to ubuntu. So I insert my xp disc to wipe the partition clean, only my screen now goes blank after the "setup is inspecting your hardware configuration" screen and ceases to do anything.... I've also tried reinstalling ubuntu on the same partition as fedora only to be now met with a "ubuntu failed to install due to hardware configuration failure" message....
I need to wipe fedora and start all over, anyone now how this is going to be possible?? any help MUCH appreciated!!

I'd doubt that Fedora did anything to mess up your system. I'd try going into your BIOS and resetting default settings. I've seen some odd problems come from the BIOS, particularly in relation to graphics cards. Try again after the BIOS reset and see if it works.

thanks for the reply. resetting the bios settings to default was the first thing I did but I get the same error. ubuntu, xp and various other linux distros I tried before fedora all worked fine - since I installed fedora xp fails to boot up - just goes to a blank screen, and ubuntu fails to install quoting the same "hardware configuration failure" as xp... would be a huge coincidence if fedora had nothing to do with it don't you think?
