Squid Proxy Help!!!
Hello All,
Firstly, I am pretty new to this forum, so please bear if you feel that I have not maintained the forum's discipline.
My help required is in the case of Squid proxy server. Normally, we can route the data using the HTTP Port 8080. How can I make the proxy work using other ports, like 8081, 8082, etc.
I need to do this because, we have 4 different sections (each section having about 30 PCs), and all of them running on the same IP range, i.e. a LAN of almost 120 PCs, here and sometimes, we are required to block only one of the section out of four.
Now, if I am able to map the port number for each of the section, I can block the incoming port on my proxy server, which in turn would block that section from accessing the Internet.
Also, can we block the web-sites, using wild-card naming system, instead of giving the complete name?
Thanks in advance... Ashish

You should just be able to add multiple 'http_port' lines to the configuration.
