    suggested distro for old macintosh

    Hello people,

Been given an old macintosh computer for free. Its pretty old, made in 1995. Its a 7600/90 macintosh with 500MB hard drive, 45Mhz CPU, not sure what ram is installed. It has a CD drive and 800k floppy drive. What linux distro would you suggest to get this thing running? I havnt seen any that can run on such low specs.

    thanks,

    Picky

Is this a similar hardware setup?

If so, you're looking at a PowerPC processor with very little available resources. Last I checked the Debian net-install disc supported PPC. That one offers a bare-bones text-only installer and lets you add on whatever else you want over the network.
