I'm not sure what the package newt does, but you're failing to find an update to its dev package.
You could temporarily try doing 'yum remove newt-devel' and then running your update?Linux user #126863 - see http://linuxcounter.net/

try changing the mirror in centos repo. also there is a plugin by name 'fastestmirror'. it switches between mirrors always looking for fastest nearby mirror. Read centos wiki regarding this. It may be of some help. PackageManagement/Yum/FastestMirror - CentOS Wiki

I think that your system need to be registered with RHN for any yum installation or updates.
[root@localhost ~]# yum update
Loading "rhnplugin" plugin
Loading "security" plugin
Loading "installonlyn" plugin
This system is not registered with RHN.
RHN support will be disabled.
If i am wrong, please correct me.
Thank you,

Are you using RHEL, or CentOS? It looks like you are using an unregistered version of RHEL, in which case you are not entitled to updates from any RedHat repository for RHEL (rhnplugin, security, installonlyn).
You will need to get at the very least a Basic RHEL subscription, or switch completely over to CentOS for which all updates are free.
Also, do not use the 'fastestmirror' plugin, it doesn't work properly. Configure yum to use only the repositories/mirrors you specifically want it to use, or one day you may be sitting there for hours waiting for a large download from a server in Czechoslovakia connected to the internet with a USRobotics 33.6k modem, because for some reason 'fastestmirror' decided it was the fastest mirror available for a given update.
