    hai,
    you cannot install .exe softwares natively in linux. but if you really want a software written for windows to run in linux, there is an emulator called WINE. You need to install wine and thru that you may install and run windows softwares.

    Secondly, many of the softwares also have linux version eg. adobe reader, flashplayer, google earth etc. You can use them.

    There is another posibility. There are some softwares which does the same job as your windows software does (in many cases better). You can choose to use them. Eg. Firefox does the same job as Internet Explorer but its way better than IE. Similarly OpenOffice is a office-suite for linux which does the same job as MS-Office.

    My first suggestion is to look for a Linux version of all of the above. I know for a fact that MySQL database has a Linux version.

    If none of that helps, please read up on a program called WINE which allows you to install some Microsoft Windows software in Linux.
