    does contents in /etc/resolv.conf or any other reason to slow my fc7 system ?

    Hi ,

    I have installed fc7 on my system . It seems to be booting up very slow .....from end tof the services to the appearance of the gdm screen ...
    is it bacause of /etc/resolve.conf or are there any other reasons ?

    If your machine can't easily get it's own hostname, sometimes X and sendmail can be slow to start. Make sure you have the IP Addresses of your local host in /etc/hosts.

    /etc/resolv.conf is for specifying nameservers.

    I'd say /etc/hosts is more likely to slow you down. And also /etc/nsswitch.conf if you've modified it before.
