New Desktop after restart?
all my desltop icons and my installed programs were gone once i restarted my red hat. it all reverted back to the original settings. what it was before i made those changes.
what do i do to get back all the things installed (which included azureus and some downloaded movies.)

Are you running from a LiveCD or did you have the system installed?
