    problem adding desktop environment from command prompt

    Hello, pls i have a new red hat 9 installation on vm ware. i installed only the x manager without the gnome and kde desktop installed during setup. but i don't no how to use the rpm to add this packages now. please can anyone help out.

    RedHat 9 is an obsolete distro. You should try lastest version of Fedora or CentOS. Both are RedHat based and free to download/install.
    In case you want to use RedHat 9 only, check manual of rpm command. You can create local repository and use yum command to install Desktop Environment(s).
    It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.
