Install error, is it the hard drive?
Hi
My boss just told me to install Linux and handed me a CD, I have never used it before although I am told it is comparable to unix, which I do have quite a bit of knowledge in.
anyways...
I am still just trying to install and I am recieving an error that says
"an error occured trying to format
VOLGroup00/LogVol00. This problem is serious, and the install cannot continue. Press enter to reboot your system"
I have tried selecting every partioning option available during the install and I get the same error every time.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks!

More information is needed. First off, which distribution of Linux are you using? What hardware do you have on this machine? Have you created the partiitons and are trying to format them? What exactly are you doing when this error occurs?
