Linux 8 with Squid 2.0....internet sharing problem
Hi all,
i am new to linux...
we are running a linux server as proxy with squid 2.0..we have eth0 and eth1,eth0 is connected to our network...eth1 is connected to ISP modem.
Our problem is some times the proxy stops sharing internet and only communicates to the local network.not to the internet even if there is no probs with internet.
It will stop the internet(i.e., eth1 will stop working) for 30 mins or 40 mins and then it will again starts the internet.but we cheked the internet service and the modem.there is no probs withthe modem.
following things we tried to trouble shoot the problem.
1.restarting squid and server...no use
2.changing the ethernet cards...no use.
3.tried different ports and cables...no use
4.reinstall the linux...no use.
5.changed the whole system... no use.
but when i disconnect the eth0(which connects to our local network)..internetworks...but eth0 is important as it is connecting to the local network.
and we are not using firewall...its a strange problem....if anybody can help us ...it wouldbe grateful...thanks in advance...
