I happen to have a Dell Inspiron 1520 laptop, and I have had no issues with any of my hardware. Is there anything in particular you can't get working? Most of the time separate drivers for Linux are not necessary, as they are included in the kernel itself.

What kind of wireless card did you choose? If it's not working out of the box I assume you picked the Dell 1395 chipset rather than the Intel one. What about your video card? ATI, Nvidia or onboard Intel? If you can explain what problems you're having specifically it will be much easier for us to help you.
