NTFS driver for Fedora Core 3

I've downloaded Fedora Core 3 because of LVM support (now installation is far more better than before) but I can't find any NTFS driver suitable for my kernel

    I've checked
    http://linux-ntfs.sourceforge.net/rpm/fedora3.html

    but my kernel is
    #uname -a
    Linux localhost 2.6.8-1.541 #1 Wed Sep 1 18:01:20 EDT 2004 i686 athlon i386 GNU/Linux

Can somebody point me to some place where I can find the driver?

I was trying to follow the notes from ntfs-linux project but that didn't work. Mainly because some strange paths in the kernel source. Any experience with this workaround?
