Gnome doesn't move focus on newly opened applications.

    Hi,

I use gnome-terminal in full screen mode, hide menubar. When I want to open a pdf file, I type 'evince A.pdf'. Although the new open evince has timestamp greater than terminal, gnome doesn't move the focus on the new evince window. The blink cursor in terminal was telling that the terminal also loses its focus. So where the hell gnome focus on which it doesn't bring to front??

Edit: when I switch back to metacity, the problem is resolved. It seems that it's a problem of compiz. Has anyone experienced this problem?
    Best regards.

Sorry. I use KDE mostly (Gnome on my Laptop w/ Ubuntu occasionally). As you surmise, it is probably a problem with compiz. Have you checked the compiz web site forums and bug lists for this problem?

It was known bug with compiz, It happens only if you are in fullscreen mode.
wont happen If you have normally maximized window.

However manually tweaking it should be possible, but not recomamnded.
compiz can take no time to cripple your desktop on wrong settings.
    Never make any misteaks.
