Problem with Wlan on inspiron 1545

Hi.. i have a Dell inspiron 1545 laptop i recently installed fedora 9 since i am facing problem with windows vista.. I am unable to load the drivers for Wlan.. i have gone through all the forums and stuff for the installation of the Wlan..
My wireless manufacturer is Broadcom Corporation BCM4310 USB controller (rev 01)... I have downloaded the drivers from the broadcom website as well but i was unable to install them. I tried using yum install ndiswrapper. this didnt help me as well.. can any one post me the detailed solution how to install my Wlan drivers so that i can move out of vista completely. I need the soln as early as possible because i have presentations and my laptop is scraping my scales... when i have some work to do....

    Thanks... in advance..
anticipating for help from the professionals... !!

Your USB device is detected, but no modules loading for it that I can see. When you say downloaded the drivers, which ones did you download?
Also, you shouldn't need ndiswrapper, so remove that.

One more thing, what is the output of
    Code:
    lsusb
    dmesg | grep firmware

    [root@localhost Harish]# lsusb
    bash:lsusb: command not found
    [root@localhost Harish]#dmesg | grep firmware

The last command doesnt show up anything

i searched for ndiswrapper for fedora 9 on google and downloaded the files but i wasn't successful installing the ndiswrapper.

    Thank you...

Let's get the wireless working first.

You should be automatically loading the b43 module, but we don't see it. Did you follow some instructions for NDISwrapper, that told you to blacklist the b43 module?

You can manually load the module. First gain root privileges using the su command. It will ask for the password, and the password will remain hidden as you enter it.
    Code:
    su <enter>
    Password: <enter root password>
    Now load the module
    Code:
    /sbin/modprobe b43
If it returns a new (blank) prompt, then it loaded the module. If it returned an error, post that error here.

You will also need firmware installed for the wireless to work, with the b43 driver. I have made a .rpm package that will install the firmware easily. You can download it here:

    b43-firmware-4.150.10.5-0.noarch.rpm

Install it with this command (as root):
    Code:
    rpm -ivh b43-firmware-4.150.10.5-0.noarch.rpm
You will still need to get the b43 module to load too.

    I followed the above command : /sbin/modprobe b43
The command showed up nothing as you mentioned.

    [root@localhost Documents]# rpm -ivh b43-firmware-4.150.10.5-0.noarch.rpm
    Preparing... ########################################### [100%]
    1:b43-firmware ########################################### [100%]

I tried installing ndswrapper but i didnt find the ndiswrapper for fedora 9
    [root@localhost Documents]# yum install NDISwrapper
    Loaded plugins: refresh-packagekit
    Setting up Install Process
    Parsing package install arguments
    No package NDISwrapper available.
I had gone through many links... in the google but nothing helped me in installing
I downloaded the driver from dell. com and in the DRIVER_US we have ....inf file which we have to link. I didnt understand that step. Can you explain me how to install ??

Whats the next step i have to follow... ? please guide me for the complete installation of the drivers.. I am retarded with vista..I thought linux would help me but since 2 days i am fighting for the wlan drivers !!

We now should check if the b43 module is loading:
    Code:
    /sbin/lsmod
Also now look for the wireless device:
    Code:
    iwconfig
