    Arrow Can I use java as front end & shell script as backend??

    I am doing a project on linux platform, I have written codings in shell script & I want to design interface for it in JAVA
    Can I opt Java(Swings) as Front end for shell script, which is my back end.....
    Please help as quickly as possible.............I am waiting for ur reply..........

    Why? If you are building the front-end in Java, why not implement the back-end there as well? Is there some particular reason why you want to build the functional components of your application in shell script? That really makes no sense to me at all.

    Hi,
    I have already finished coding in shell script... I can't go in java....I dont have enough time....now i have to design interface for that....One of my friend told java swings is best for interface design ...... Is there any software which is suitable as front end for Shell script....

    Rather than Java, you could use Python or TCL/Tk. They both have rich front-end (and back-end) capabilities.
    Sometimes, real fast is almost as good as real time.
