    no avi and divx support?

Hi trying to play a few media files. Mplayer is telling me i need a xvid mpeg 4 decoder? and when I play mpegs I need windows mpeg 8 and 9 audio and video decoders respectively...

I've tried updating the system, but doesnt seem to provide these codecs.

Any ideas? Anyone using Fedora 10 having these issues?

    Regards

Fedora, to great extent, only includes free (as in speech) software. You need to enable the rpmfusion repos to get the non-free codecs you need.

Try VLC Player. Its supports most of the media formats.
    Code:
    yum -y install vlc
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

When you say "it" has been installed previously, what exactly do you mean? You've already enabled rpmfusion? What codecs have you installed? Did you install the win32codecs package for mplayer? If you're using GNOME, have you tried totem and installed gstreamer0.10-ugly-plugins, gstreamer0.10-bad-plugins, and gstreamer0.10-good-plugins?
