    Cannot update anything on CentOS 5.2 or 5.3

    I am completely stuck. I don't know what to do and I cannot find help anywhere else.

    I cannot get yum to connect to any mirrors. Everytime I try I keep getting errors, the latest one is

    Code:
    "Cannot retrieve repository metadata (repomd.xml) for repository base.  Please verify its path and try again."
    My boss is about to kill me because this server will not cooperate. I am a complete noob to using this distro and I can't find any answers using searches.

    I am begging for some guidance.
