    X_X How? I thought core version ended at 6.

    may be its fedora 9
    just download the rpm from HERE and double click it and click install.

    then use command on your terminal
    # svn co svn://some/thing/on/svn directory
    If you want GUI for SVN theres one called as rapidsvn
    Never make any misteaks.

    Thanks for your kind guidance. Yes your are right; This is Fedora 9.
    I will be grateful if you can inform me about running CVS on it too.

    Is there any good reference about installing different software on Linux Fedora 9?
    And about necessary commands there?

    I have not worked so much on subversion repositories.
    but you can go through this guide..there are just many available around, dont forget to google them
