Are there any differences can be observed during the installation of windos xp and fedora 7 ??

And how to get hardware information of the pc and OS related information in fedora 7...... if there any commands is to be used ..please mentioned
and what are the commands are to be used to get IP and MAC address of the pc in fedora 7

There are some differences. But the Fedora installer will walk you through everything.
However, Fedora 7 is no longer actively maintained. You might want to look into a newer version. 10 is current, with 11 being released in about a month.Jay

lspci will give you most of what you might need. lsusb will give you USB devices. There are other programs as well, like lshw (list hardware), not sure what Fedora has installed however.
ifconfig and iwconfigand what are the commands are to be used to get IP and MAC address of the pc in fedora 7

Personally to me, its an easier setup in Fedora, at least in the newer releases, and does vary on whether your partitioning or need particular configurations.
