    Can't install files :(

I can't seem to install files on my system. I'm trying to install java from a .rpm file, and I've tried another rpm file to install something but both times I get the following error messages one after another:

    "Sorry an error occurred"
"The package signature was m. The package was not signed"

    Then it aborts the installation.

Does anyone know what's going on with it?

I am assuming you are running these commands as root.

Have you tried the --nosignature flag? Make sure you trust the place you got these RPMs from tho.

Which distro are you running? Have you tried the instructions found on this page?

KDE is your Desktop Environment. What I mean is are you running Fedora 8, Fedora 10? I'm just wondering because the link I posted was for Fedora 10. Instructions for other versions of Fedora can be found on the side bar, to the right of the page.

Yes, I trie dthose instructions and still no luck. I've tried a few different things to see if they'd install (all from official sites) but no luck. Just doesn't seem to like rpm files XD

Okay... the link I gave actually doesn't have the .rpm method listed first. Have you tried using yum to install? If so, what was the exact error message?

If you went instead to Java's download page, and followed the steps listed there, what (again) was the error thrown?

Post the errors here using [code] tags.
