ATI Radeon 4850 driver crashed my RHEL 4 AS - x64
I tried using the automatic installation of the driver, now my screen is garbled when I boot up.
I'm such a newbie that I don't know how to boot up into a "safe" mode or into a terminal instead of the gnome GUI so that I can uninstall the ATI driver.
I tried to generate a specific installation package for my RHEL 4 AS but
1) I don't know which package of the 2 RHEL 4 to install, the one that just says RHEL 4 or the one that says RHEL 4-64a. (The package I downloaded was for 64 bit so I assume they're both 64 bit).
2) I have NO idea where it put the package, I think it's supposed to be an RPM file. It says in the current directory (/usr/ATI was the one I created), however, only a .LOG file could be found there.
1) Is there any reason why the ATI driver isn't working
2) How can I boot into a terminal so that I can fix the problem
Thanks,
Steve
