RHEL is for commercial use. I guess if have outdated Redhat than check with Redhat regarding upgradtion with proper fee.

If you want it for home use, then try Fedora ..i don't see much difference between Redhat and Fedora...expect Redhat will provide you services since it's commerical.

Yes,you can check with Fedora rpms for Redhat, but i'm not sure whether it's legal ....

EDIT: I have voted for Fedora,Debina,Ubuntu and Mandriva ... since i like all of them....and of course you have provided "Check box "instead of "radio button " ...so I guy ,4 votes ....I'm from democratic country

I would suggest you to go for CentOS. Its RHEL based, free to download/install and has well managed repositories.
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

I nod in agreement with seniors. Its better to use CentOS, if you don't want to pay for subscription. CentOS=RHEL - the branding. Using CentOS will also solve your repo problem automatically.

Centos is an excat detto of RedHat. If you need you can continue with redhat machine, but change the repositories to centos so that you can update/install your system using YUM. you need to delete the redhat repository file from /etc/yum.repos.d/ and add a new file for centos.

go google to find the repositories for centos

and update yum :- yum update

    thankyou
