Live CDs question
When you use a Live CD version of a distro like Fedora, and you install new applications and change settings, will those changes be saved on the CD or usb flash drive? Or will the distro reset each time you reboot it?
Thanks

Hi and Welcome !
LiveCD doesn't save any thing in Harddisk and every setting will be gone on next reboot.
You can create USB with persistant mode though. You can save settings and install new packages that way.It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

how would I create a usb with persistant mode?

I haven't tried it myself but in other LiveCD's there are some settings in the system menu that will let you format a USB device for personal settings. (persistent mode) I'm sure Fedora is the same.

Ok. I will check that out. Last thing, do the Live CD versions have the same files and features as the Desktop versions? I mean, were they made more portable by removing some features? If yes, is there a way to take the full desktop version and put it on a usb?
Because I want to have the COMPLETE fedora OS running on a persistant mode usb.

Yes, they usually get slimmed down when they create a LiveCD. I think the best way to install any distro, is to install the LiveCD and then add software from the repos as you go along.
Sometime, LiveCD's come as a DVD image rather than a CD image, thereby giving you much more software on the Disk. Sabayon is a perfect example, they offer CD and DVD versions.I do not respond to private messages asking for Linux help, Please keep it on the forums only.

Welcome to the forums!
You can look here for some distros that fit on a USB drive:
Boot and run Linux from a USB flash memory stick | USB Pen Drive Linuxoz

I have a 32 gig usb flash drive. I don't need a special distro that will fit a usb. I would like to fit the full desktop version of Fedora 10 on my usb, and I would like to make my usb percistant.
