    torrents freezing my adsl router

my torrent client (Transmission 1.51 - Default for Fedora 10) has been freezing my G604T modem from time to time... so i'm wondering if anyone knows of any good torrent client program that i can use which would handle the problem i'm having.

i don't think my problem has anything todo with the download/upload speed because i can download big files directly very quickly but i don't seem to be able to download using torrent. I don't think it's got to do with number of downloads either as i have limited my downloads to 1 torrent at a time but problem still persists. I think it is more todo with users pinging or making requests to my pc, can the number of requests be controlled? i know i can limit the number of peers

any suggestions would be muchly appreciated

Some of the routers, rather firmewares cannot handle several connections ( hundreds ) at the same time, try limit maximum simontaneous connections to 50 and do not download more than 2-3 torrents at a time.... think about upgrading the firmware on the adsl router.... or get a good modem on ebay and get a good linksys/cisco router....
