Is there a reason why you would want to downgrade your x-server?

Please be more descriptive of your problems (dependencies, etc) and why you think you should "downgrade" your X server? FWIW, doing that will cause a lot more problems (in my opinion) than it will fix. Are these coding dependencies (8-bit pseudocolor vs trucolor displays), desktop version dependencies, font issues, or what?
Sometimes, real fast is almost as good as real time.
