Installing RHEL from a USB drive (in Windows)
Alright, so I've searched for hours on this, and not found the answer yet. I want to install RHEL onto a Dell Poweredge 1950 server using a USB thumb drive. Is it possible to do this with the 5 install CD's (I have them downloaded already). I've seen all of the tutorials that say to use diskboot.img, but the computer is not connected to the internet (so I can't do network install). If anyone could help that would be great. Thanks

If I recall correctly, you do a network install and then point it to the CD images. The CD images are what you downloaded. They cannot be on the same device or partition that the diskboot.img is on.
So, this would require two USB drives. One made bootable using the diskboot image. Transfer the disk image using the dd command. The other would contain the raw CD images.
If you have a flash memory card slot, and your system can boot from it, you can make a bootable memory card with the diskboot image.Paul

Why not get the RHEL install DVD and put that on a thumb drive? The DVD includes all the stuff found on the CD's, and is only 2.8GB. A 4GB thumb drive could containt the entire image, and making it bootable is simple enough.
Sometimes, real fast is almost as good as real time.
