    Finding windows computers on lan

I am an on again, off again linux user and still consider myself a beginner so please keep replies simple and detailed.

I have just installed fedora 11 on my laptop and trying to see my windows desktop on my home network which has shared folders.

I had used suse a couple years back was able to do this using samba but I tried getting into samba again to set it up but I didn't see anything that would work.

Any help is appreciated, thank you.

I'm running windows 7 rc but that shouldnt effect this since a vista computer can access it just fine.

I go into network and samba shares, it tells me it doesn't see any computers on the network. it says it may be because of the firewall but I disbaled it and it still didn't see anything.

I don't know if the smb.conf file is good. it's a fresh install.
