you probably have to reinstall, you shouldn't modify system critical files

You could try to boot single-user mode and rename the file back to what it was. If that doesn't work, try booting off a live CD, mount root(/), and rename the file back.

Library files are not meant to be renamed. If you cannot boot into single user mode, then you can boot a recovery disc, mount the hard drive, and rename the files back to what they were originally. My advice is do NOT login as root unless you know EXACTLY what you are doing, otherwise you are likely to totally mung your system, as you have discovered.
Sometimes, real fast is almost as good as real time.
