    Exclamation 32 or 64 bit ? how to know

    when i type uname -a i get following
    Linux llocalhost.localdomain 2.6.25-14.fc9.i686 #1 SMP Thu May 1 06:28:41 EDT 2008 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux

    so is it a 32 or 64 bit os ?

    It's an 32-bit,64 bit will have an output something like x86_64 instead of i386/i486/i586/i686
