MBR....problem
i have installed both windows xp and fedora 9 in my laptop (compaq 6720s)
recently my xp got corrupted. so i need to repair it. then i tried to boot from a bootable xp cd.. but its not booting... i gave first preference to boot from cd (boot order)...still not booting.
can any one help. Someone told be " its because of MBR-- once u install linux u cant install any other OS " . At least tell me how to change MBR so that i can install xp again by keeping linux as it is..
Thanks..

Boot up from SuperGRUB CD/USB/Floppy and select Fix Windows Boot Loader option. Windows OS installation CD will work fine after that.
If you have Floppy drive, then download Windows 98 Bootable Floppy from bootdisk.com. Boot up from Floppy and execute this
It will remove GRUB and Windows Installation CD will work.Code:A:\> fdisk /mbr
You can easily re-install GRUB after fixing Windows OS.It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.
