i am newbie fo linux. I use fedora 11 with mplayer and Gnome mplayer, these both applications freeze after a while. How we can kill such running applications? thanks......

    i am newbie fo linux.

    I use fedora 11 with mplayer and Gnome mplayer, these both applications freeze after a while.
    How we can kill such running applications?

    I don't run Fedora but I am pretty sure you can install Htop in it which is like a task manager. It has a kill option. Google for how to install Htop into Fedora 11 using Yum I guess, or wait for a Fedora/rpm user to reply.

    thanks Htop worked fine.

    >su -
    password: [root-password]
    #>yum install htop
    application-->system tools--->Htop--->select the process and F9.

    it was an easy one.
