    Fixing CentOS File Permissions

Recently an install script was run on my server and reset all permissions to 777, including the CentOS OS files. Is there a script or anything out there that will correct the permissions for the OS files?

i dont know if there is. but what you can do is put all the files in 644 and after change the ones you need with other permissions. I think thats the best idea.

i think the most common is 744 but with root as the owner..

i dont rely know if there is a common permision for all files by default lot of files have diferent options.

may be this can help you: Linux Files and File Permissions

or if you dont have rely important stuff you can save your /home : /tmp and : /etc directorys and reinstall the system.
