Hi,
using dual booting vista and redhat
we can access vista (ntfs partition) files in redhat using third party tools lik NTFS-3g.
now i have a problem in redhat(lost grub boot file and unable to boot into redhat), but redhat contain some valuable documents .
can i access redhat partition files from vista ...any one know third party tools...
help me

There are a couple of ways round this:
- You could use a rescue disk to re-install grub, this would be straightforward, and I believe we have instructions to re-install the grub boot loader on the HOWTO's pages of this forum
- You could log in with a rescue disk and copy the files you want off to another medium, such as a blank CDR/DVDR or to a memory stick.
- There are ext3 drivers around for Windows. I believe some of those are free, or at least have a trial period, which would provide you with the opportunity to recover your files
- You could get hold of another Linux machine and put the hard disk drive out of your dual-boot computer into that, it'd be able to read files off the hard disk.Linux user #126863 - see http://linuxcounter.net/

i tried to recreate grub..like this
sh> /sbin/grub-install /dev/sda7
/sbin/grub-install not found
sh>whereis grub-install
/usr/sbin/grub-install
sh>/usr/sbin/grub-install /dev/sda7
/sbin/grub-install not found
it didnt works for me ..what should i do?????????
