    Hi and Welcome !

It looks like /dev/hdc doesn't have /boot partition. Post the output of fdisk -l command here.
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

    fdisk -l
    /dev/hdc1 ntfs
    /dev/hdc2 /boot
    /dev/hdc6 swap
    /dev/hdc7 / ext3
    /dev/hdc8 fat32

    Try this command :
    Code:
    grub-install /dev/hda --recheck
In case it doesn't work, post the contents of /boot folder here.
    Code:
    ls /boot
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

Red Hat Linux 9 is a very old distro thats not been supported for years. You are better off trying the latest version of Fedora or CentOS.

I agree with daark.child. Go for Fedora or CentOS. Both are RedHat based and free to download/install.
In case you want to use RH9 ( not recommended ), post the output of ls /boot command as suggested earlier.

You have to purchase License for RHEL. You won't get security and other updates without License.
I would suggest you to install CentOS. Its a clone of RHEL only.

Install Windows OS before Linux. Windows OS doesn't work fine in a few machines if you install it after Linux Installation.
