    Wireless WLG-1101 or WG111v2 driver ?

    I'm trying to install an old copy of RedHat ( version 5) onto a old Sony VAIO laptop. ( the only CD based linux disc I have that seems to get around the SONY CD drive issue)

    Anyone know where I can find a linux driver for a WLG-1101 pcmcia 802.11g wireless pc card ?

    OR

    for a netgear WG111v2 usb wireless dongle ?

    You will probably need to use ndiswrapper and the Windows driver for the device in question, especially since the version of LInux that you mention is very old, and at best only a 2.4 kernel. If it is still 2.2, then I think you are SOL.

    I agree, either get a newer distro or prepare yourself for a nightmare on Linux street. .

    Unfortunately he's correct about the Vaio having issues with drivers for their CD/DVD players. My wife runs RHEL 3 or 4 on her Sony (necessary for her work at FermiLab) and is always complaining about Sony and it's proprietary hardware that doesn't work with anything but it's version of WIndows, and the fact that the system doesn't work well with a lot of 3rd party hardware as well. I don't remember how many devices we've had to return because they won't work on it.
