    RTL8139? These have been supported for years - they're so generic they're ingrained. If you have one of these network cards you shouldn't need to install any seperate driver package on any distro released in the last 5 years.

    Just plug the card in, boot up and it should be found automatically by the system. If you've done that and it still doesn't work, then you may have a hardware problem or other conflict.
