    FC11 and VIA mobo

Hi, I currently installed on my old rig ubuntu intrepid w/ disabling acpi. I dont have success installing the jaunty on it. My problem is it wont shutdown properly and every now and then it keeps checking my system for consistencies. so it really a hassle.

I would like to install FC11 on it but before I'll install it I want to know if it will still have issues w/ a via chipset where I'm going to disable the acpi in order for it to work?

I've run thee live usb on it but freezes while booting.

We have to check your machine specs first.
Execute this in Ubuntu Terminal :
    Code:
    sudo lspci
    Post output here.

To disable apci in any distro, pass acpi=off option to kernel.
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

Your machine's hardware is well supported by Fedora. You might face display problem coz of Graphics Card but its easy to fix that too.
In case Graphics Installer doesn't work, select text mode installation.

You have to check it first. If Machine doesn't boot or show acpi related problems, disable apci.
