Fedora 11 wants to install from network - NOT
I'm trying to install Fedora 11 on an older Dell Optiplex GXa. The hardware recognizes the CD and loads the system, even checks the disk.
After the filesystems are created, I expect that the CD would be accessed but instead a prompt for networking information was presented. I filled out the info and continued, where the system started to locate and install the software from the internet...
I donot want a network install since I have a modem connection to the internet.. way too slow...
How can I force the install to look at the CD only????
TIA

The default install for Fedora probably does not fit on one CD.
Fedora Install Manual => Which Files To Download
I read that as "installing the default software from a CD (Live image) will require more files to be downloaded than the Live image, but less then downloading the full DVD image."Download Size
Installing the default software for Fedora over the Internet requires more time than the Live image, but less time than the entire DVD distribution. Actual results depend on the software you select and network traffic conditions.

Not using the Live CD..
You are correct.. It typically uses 4 CD's of the 6 ISO's that I downloaded..
It starts the install reading from the CD, but then Anaconda seems to determine that a CD does not exist and prompts for the network information..
I had not thought to try a Live CD and install once I had that up and running... Hmmmm!
Have to think about that, and also down load the Live ISO..
