Updating KDE under FC8
Hi all,
I was working in Fedora core 8 with KDE version 3.5
Recently i have seen FC 11 which has KDE version 4 which looks great and i started loving the look and feel. Now can i update only the KDE part in my FC 8 without updating the kernel
Note: I don't want to install FC 11 in my system i just want to update only KDE part of my FC 8
Thanks,
BalaC

Yep as hawk87 said, Fedora 8 is out of support now. Why wouldn't you just upgrade your entire system, it doesn't cost anything!

I can't upgrade the kernel as i notice in newer FC11 some of my programs or not working ( i mean my own code). Also i can't update my code to support FC11 as the code is used by some of my collegues and modifying the code may take more time as there are more number of *.c files out there.
May be i am out of luck
In case if i want to upgrade FC8 to FC11 is it possible or else i need to backup my data and then reinstall FC11
Anyway, thank you guys for your answers
Thanks,

You could also download KDE-4.x as tar balls and compile it from the ground up. Which might take a long, long time.
