    Hi,
I am trying to install sybase on RHEL5
Even after doing sudo to root, it's giving error:

Try switching to root, cd to the setup directory, and then run ./setup.
    Code:
    su -
    cd sybase_setup_dir
    ./setup
When you execute "su -", it will ask for the root password. Enter that and you should get the root user prompt.
Sometimes, real fast is almost as good as real time.

unable to run setup on RHEL5 : resolved

    Thanks.
I followed up with our unix admin on this, as turn out to be I was not able to run most of the executables. He had a quick look and he changed some settings.
The response from the Unix admin was: "Removed the extra right for a non-root user to mount the partition. This extra right brings some unintented restrictions with it."
Apologies, but I am new to linux world so it did not made much sense to me, but I am happy that the error got resolved.
