DNS problem and also black screen

so I'm now running fedora 11 desktop edition as my primary OS on my laptop.

I had problems connecting to the internet at first. This was solved when I posted a help thread here.

Entering in the correct DNS IP fixed the problem. However, every time I restart my laptop I have to reenter the proper DNS settings. How do I permanently save these settings?

Also, when I close my laptop lid Fedora goes to a "black screen," as if it were hibernating. Except nothing can awake it from this. I have to turn off the laptop and start it up again.

Since your laptop is using DHCP the resolv.conf file will always be over written. Because you have to enter the DNS information every time tell me that the DHCP server is not setup correctly. Your DHCP server should be giving you the DNS information you need.

As to the black screen I have no idea, sorry.
