    problem with LTO Tape

    just want to ask if its possible to read the data in LTO tape backuped using Symantec Backup Exec 11d in Linux? If possible how can I read the files? I've been having problem restoring files using the Symantec Backup Exec. Thank you in advance..

    No. The data format is a derivative of the original MTF (Maynard Tape Format) and not understood by Linux natively.

    Backup Exec History

    There are various "MTF on Linux" projects but I don't know of any that are recent or what success rate they have.

    You might have some luck if you ran Backup Exec in a Windows VM on your Linux host, provided you can make the tape drive visible to the guest.
    Sometimes, real fast is almost as good as real time.
