Where's the sha1sum file?
Just downloaded Fedora 11 on DVD. Verification instructions (for Windows) say to calculate the sha1sum (simple enough) and then compare it to the verified sha1sum by "opening the sha1sum file in a text editor such as Notepad."
I have absolutely combed the Fedora site. Where on Earth is this danged sha1sum file???
I was pretty into Fedora about 3 or 4 years ago. I think I'm gonna be glad to be back

Welcome to the forums!
You can get the DVD checksum file here:
ftp://ftp.uci.edu/mirrors/fedora/lin...dora/i386/iso/
...if you are going to install the 64bit version, check here:
ftp://ftp.uci.edu/mirrors/fedora/lin...ra/x86_64/iso/oz

And it is now "sha256sum" with F11.

This just doesn't seem right. I've downloaded the x86_64 DVD twice now and the sum I've calculated on that has not been anything like those. I've used sha1sum.exe from the command line and have also used HashCalc to calculate the sha1sum and the sha256sum.
Is there a better way to get this file? What's a good Windows BitTorrent client?

Honestly, I don't even bother checking the shasum. The disks usually have a disk-checking utility in them. When you boot into it for the first time, select it to check the disk.
